This started as a one man organisation with myself David Apap now 46 from Gozo still managing the events.This year is actually the 10th year since we started and I wanted to do something special.I am also the author of this website.

The idea orgininated from the fact that I wanted to organise something original a competition of something inexistent in the island of Gozo.

I remember my friends and I doing it at school and was also influenced by the film Over the top So I decided to do something original.

I googled malta armwrestling and could see that there was a federation and I contacted them.Sadly they informed me that they are no longer organisinng activities.I also found who were the winners of the last competition Jason Farrugia and Clifton Spagnol and I contacted Clifton since his name was uncommon in Malta and I found him on  facebook.They accepted the invitation for my event along with a good number of novice armwrestlers and bodybuilders from the island of Gozo.

I also found help from Mr Matthew Muscat Inglott who had a gym in Malta (Noble gym) and also had an armwrestling table.Infact he had organised one competition in his gym with the winner being Cleaven Cutajar.

Since then I organised an event every two years but now that I got help from armwrestlers from malta like Kersten Mercieca which is current Maltese champion and competed internationally and Brian Muscat an armwrestler from Gozo.

This year we have a sponsor which is giving us some money for the prices.(JMC REAL ESTATE).I will also buy trophy`s by myself to make it look better.There will be a small entrance fee for the of €10 per competitors,viewers free.

Next competition will be next August the 25th being on a Sunday at 1.30 pm and it is an open air competition.We are celebrating the 10th year so hope to have a great competition.

For this event we are introducing a female armwrestling competion.There is a good interest so far.

I have been involved in several sports.I played football both as a player and as a goalkeeper,played rugby and tug of war.I am a professional divers and I swim all year round.
